MAXINE GOWER'S BIO

I am a graduate of Hunter College, New York (B.A., Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Hunter College Graduate School of Social Work (MSW, with Honors). I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado with 17 years of experience.

For the past 11 years I have done post-graduate studies and am a graduate of the Colorado Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies  (NCPsy.P. - Nationally Certified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist).

Originally, I worked on mental health teams in Mental Health Agencies and Medical clinics in both New York and Boulder, Colorado. Other work includes couples counseling, therapy and advocacy work with the elderly, fertility counseling and therapy and legal issues related to divorce and parental agreements.

I currently maintain a private practice in Boulder, Colorado offering both in-person and phone sessions with adolescent and adult individuals, couples and families. In addition, I supervise other therapists and teach master's students at Naropa University in the Department of Contemplative Psychology.
